IN THE PRESS
Because Clifford Bernier is a musician, his poetry naturally captivates sound on the page. Bernier explores philosophical questions. This book is a meditation seen through a spray of green ocean. With reverence to the natural world and its mysteries, we hear a poet singing through his soul.
GRACE CAVALIERI
MARYLAND POET LAUREATE
“Cliff Bernier is a lover of the earth and of her peoples; of forests and rivers; of plows and cities; of Seoul, Japan, Zimbabwe, Virginia, home. Traveler, seeker, powerfully cadenced praise-singer, he embraces the humble and earthy, the cosmic, the natural, and the human, the exotic and the modern.
JUDITH MCCOMBS
AUTHOR, THE HABIT of FIRE
These poems are a marvelous place to go. Their wings take us up. We circle over questions and glide through dreams on such a gifted journey. Yes, in Ocean Suite, Clifford Bernier travels us through a world lifted with knowing and wishing.
